General Anil Chauhan was commissioned into the Sixth Battalion, the Eleventh Gorkha Rifles in Jun 1981. With over 44 years of distinguished military service, the general has held various key appointments across varied operational and terrain profiles including the Command of 3 Corps and Eastern Army besides serving as the Military Advisor to the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) before being appointed as the second CDS of the country. Academically inclined, General Anil Chauhan has authored three books titled ‘Aftermath of a Nuclear Attack’, ‘History of the 11 Gorka Regiment’ and ‘Ready, Relevant and Resurgent (RRR)’. Drawing upon his operational experiences including that of the Balakot Strike, Op Sunrise and the recently conducted ‘Op Sindoor’, General Anil Chauhan has authored RRR II at a time when India is facing real and complex challenges – from asymmetric threats, unresolved borders, cyber threats, militarization of space to battle over influence in the Indo-Pacific and beyond. The book gives a clarion call to the Indian Armed Forces, defence industries and the policy makers to think indigenously, strategize intelligently, synergize, act boldly and shape a modern military that not only is the protector of India’s national interests but propels it towards its rightful place on the world stage.
