Dr. Parag Diwan is a high technology buff, having worked with organization like NASA and Semiconductors Complex Ltd. different facets of high technology from rocket science to microcircuits fascinate him. Apart from his other multifarious interests and responsibilities. Dr. Diwan specializes in green energy technology development, including incubation of companies in area of clean technology.

Currently he is the Founder Vice Chancellor of the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES). Simultaneously he is also the Chief Operating Officer of the Indian School of Petroleum and Energy, an institution engaged in providing education, training, research and consultancy services in the entire spectrum of the Indian Oil and Gas industry. Recently, he is also been appointed Secretary General of Energy Institute, India an affiliate of Energy Institute, UK, a best practices institution in energy sector.

He has more than 200 papers to his credit on various topics and has participated in several national and International conferences. He has authored and edited over 50 books on various technology energy and business, including the encyclopedic Dictionary of Nanoscience and Energycopia. He has also been a contributing editor to various national and international journals.
